Danger all-over (by Tobias and Violeta)
We looked very much forward to another theatre premiere this week. This time at the DEUTSCHES THEATER, currently perhaps Berlin´s most interesting theatre. We wanted to see Shakespeare´s “Summernightsdream” by the outstanding director Jürgen Gosch with a - we bet on it - grandiose stage-design by Johannes Schütz and with extraordinary actors like Corinna Harfouch and Ernst Stötzner in the main parts.
But the premiere was cancelled - because of a “stage accident”, announced the theater´s web-site and the till girl said that we have to be patient until May, the actors have to get well.
“Stage accidents” occur, of course, premieres are cancelled because the team isn´t satisfied by the result, sure, actors fall ill, needless to say…
But this staging of all stagings?
We were sad and started to imagine what might have happened: Someone doesn´t dominate his/her part (= implausible, they are all professionals), someone broke his leg (= possible, but they would have substituted the actor), they fell out with each other (= maybe, but no reason for cancelling the premiere). Then we read that they used a motor saw on stage… hmmmm?!
But now we found a photo of the rehearsal and we think we cracked it: Is it possible that the actors fell of these trees?
Please, get well soon - we are waiting for the premiere!
Berlin is a dangerous city, also on stage…
